Protect your data, recover value from retired technology, and meet Pennsylvania disposal requirements
Your retired computers, servers, laptop systems, monitors, and storage devices may still contain confidential data and reusable materials. We help your business manage this equipment securely instead of allowing it to become unmanaged e-waste. Backed by e-Stewards Certification, NAID AAA Certification, and Certified B Corporation status, we combine data protection, responsible recycling, and auditable reporting so your organization has a clear, auditable record of every asset.
Urban Technologies supports the full technology life cycle through three core services: electronics recycling, asset recovery & resale, and data destruction.
Keep old electronics out of landfills with secure, transparent processing. We dismantle eligible equipment, recover metals and plastic, and send remaining components to certified recycling and recovery facilities that help protect the environment and support a more sustainable future.
Learn moreMaximize the return on your retiring IT assets through our secure refurbishing and resale program. We responsibly process and remarket your legacy equipment, driving value back to your business while protecting the environment by keeping e-waste out of landfills.
Learn moreProtect sensitive information stored on hard drives and other data-bearing devices. Our wiping and shredding services follow recognized standards and include chain-of-custody records, serial number reporting, and Certificates of Destruction.
Learn moreDeleting files does not always remove the underlying information. Professional data destruction helps protect clients, employees, and your organization from breaches that could happen after equipment is disposed of.
Working devices and parts may qualify for refurbishment, resale, or reuse. Equipment without further value can be separated into recoverable commodities, reducing the amount of electronic waste sent for final disposal.
Our proprietary Impact Report gives your team evidence of responsible processing. This information can support internal goals, client reporting, and environmental initiatives with verifiable data.
Philadelphia residents have several convenient options for recycling unwanted electronics
safely and responsibly.
Philadelphia residents can bring computers, monitors, televisions, batteries, and other computer-related equipment to the city's six sanitation convenience centers. Centers are located at several sites, including 3901 N. Delaware Ave and State Rd at Ashburner St, and proof of residency is required.
Goodwill Keystone Area offers free electronics drop-off through 42 stores and donation centers across central and southeastern Pennsylvania. Accepted items include computers, monitors, printers, televisions, cameras, cables, and many electronics used in the home, but not loose batteries or devices with swollen, leaking, or damaged batteries.
Local recyclers such as eForce may host collection events, including scheduled Saturday programs. Residents can also use city resources to find approved other locations, but should always check current hours, fees, item limits, and accepted equipment before making the trip.
